Brazilian Music Award-winning trio Gilsons are a family band of the highest pedigree.
Francisco, João, and José Gil are respectively the sons and grandsons of the legendary Gilberto Gil.

The band blends pop rock, samba, rap and Bahian rhythms, but draws particular inspiration from MPB, Gilberto's chief métier. Following a strong run of singles, including the hits "Várias Queixas," and "Devagarinho", the band released their debut album, Pra Gente Acordar, which was subsequently nominated for the Latin GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese.

The trio has participated in major festivals throughout Brazil, including Lollapalooza and Rock in Rio, but this performance represents their Australian debut.
